Dick Wettengel (75’) won his 400th Game as a Head Basketball Coach on January 31, 2025, with a 53-43 victory over Atlantic. Ironically, Coach Wettengel won his 300th Game with a 50-37 victory over Atlantic on November 30, 2018. Dick Wettengel is 403-312 in 32 years of coaching, and now marching towards 500 wins!
Coach Wettengel won the Boys State Championship as a St. Albert player in 1975.
Coach Wettengel was an Assistant Boys Coach on the St. Albert Runner-Up Team in 1988, and in 1989 was as an Assistant Boys Coach on the St. Albert State Championship Team.
As a Boys Varsity Coach, Coach Wettengel led St. Albert Falcons teams to two State Runner-Ups, in 1993 and 1994. In addition, Coach Wettengel led Lewis Central High School to their only State Tournament appearance in boys basketball, in 2000.
Since taking the helm for the St. Albert Saintes, Coach Wettengel has led the Saintes to State Tournament appearances in 2020 and 2024.
