State Wrestling Day 1
#10 Wyatt Lewis at 160lbs is now 46-6...
Wyatt beat Sr. Dru Kenny from Ridge View by Technical Fall 19-2!
Onto the Quarterfinals tomorrow we're Wyatt will face Sr. 40-5 Cole Cook from Tipton. Cook won an 8-7 decision over 26-7 John Pint.
#7 Jake Lewis at 182lbs is now 36-1...
Jake beat Sr. Taylor James from Akron Westefield 3-1 with a takedown in the closing seconds.
Onto the Quarterfinals tomorrow we're Jake will face 39-0 Senior Andrew Wellik from Emmetsburg. Wellik beat 36-13 Seth Kerr 13-4.
Jake from his linebacker position and Andrew from his running back position have faced each other 2 years in a row in the State Football Semi-Finals and now for the 2nd year in a row they will face each other at State Wrestling. Jake is 2-0 on the football field and Andrew is 1-0 on the wrestling mat.

Brothers Wyatt & Jake Lewis wrestling side-by-side in the State Quarterfinals!
Wyatt Lewis in the Quarterfinals lost 5-3 in overtime to Cole Cook from Tipton. Wyatt then won an 11-2 major decision over Schuyler Rilling. Lewis is now guaranteed a medal.
Lewis then beat fellow Junior, Jake Hogan, from the powerhouse, Don Bosco by an injury default. Wyatt was up 17-7 late in the 3rd.
Wyatt Lewis will now wrestle tomorrow morning in the Consolation Semi-Finals against Dale Hilleman from West Marshall. If Lewis wins he'll wrestle for 3rd place. If he loses he'll wrestle for 5th place.
Jake Lewis in Quarterfinals lost to 40-0 Andrew Wellik 7-6. Jake then lost 5-2 in the consolations to Terry Mooty from Dike-New Hartford.
Lewis ends his career 9th all-time in career wins at St. Albert. Thanks for a fun ride Jake!
